The title of this post is something I heard someone say I while ago... I was walking home from school, and it was a teenage boy saying it to another teenage boy. The reason it stuck in my head is because it seemed like such a angsty and teenage thing to say, and being teenage and angsty is like... a permanent vibe for me.
Eva's recent post about this kinda freaked me out, because, well... it is exactly exactly what I'm feeling, and I could have written it myself! Being a teenager (and in your early twenties) surely must be the best time of your life. When else do you not have to worry about feeding a family and paying the mortgage and getting the best deal for car insurance, but can still go wherever the hell you want after school; eat as much junk as you like and scream along to
X-Ray Spex (when else can you dance like Poly Styrene-love her style!) at the top of your voice?
So it's wonderful. I'm 14, and I should be living my life. But you know, that's exactly what I feel like I'm not doing...I kind of just stay at home all the time...with like...no social life. I just feel pretty unsatisfied with my life right now, like I'm not making the most of my youth. But the New Year's here, and it seems like a pretty good time to make some changes. Being more crazy and wild and teenage is my main New Years Resolution out of many. Instead of boring you with my full list, however, I'll share with you the list of 'more teenagey things I'm going to start doing'. (or just more fun things in general)
- When it rains, go outside and run around and sing and dance
- Make everyday different!
- Make mix cds for everyone and everything
- Watch more angsty teenage films with awesome teenage characters I can relate to and then obbsess about them for the next week
- Decorate my room as amazingly as this
- Go places with friends n shit
Number 2 is an important one because the other day I realized EVERYDAY IS THE SAME. I wrote this diary entry about it; I hope you can read my hand writing. I also just think the idea of posting a
diary entry is very clever and fits in with the vibes.

Yayyy, someone else feels like this! I know every one of my friends does, but no one seems to want to talk about it, its like being angsty and hormonal means you've got depression or something! Its like, Wake uo and smell the teenager years, honeys! And your vibes are awsome, as usual! Looking forward to Outsider!

thanks! can't wait, either!
DeleteI guess that almost every teenager has these feelings at some point , but I think that these feelings make you think about life and what you want to achieve. I have a constant list of things I want to do and it seems as if I will never be able to achieve these things , which makes me kinda sad and frustrated. :)
ReplyDeleteXx
Yeah, there's so many things I want to happen and I'm scared they never will. Thanks for reading!
DeleteWhoa. I completely know what you mean, I feel like my teen years are slipping away and I'm wasting them because my life never seems as cool to me as a teenage movie. I should be partying non stop and falling in love! Like I want to be all care-free but then I worry too much. It's hard.
ReplyDeleteAlso, not meaning to nag, but do you know when you'll start getting back to people about Outsider? Thanxx :)
Yeah, teen movies make me feel like I'm a terrible teenager...
DeleteWe will definitely get back to you by the end of January, I promise!
I can really relate to this. I see all the other people my age and all the teenage movies and I really feel like I'm missing out on so much.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Outsider to be finished :)
xx
I'm so glad you know what I'm mean! I'm happy that people are actually looking forward to outsider. xx
DeleteI totally relate to this too! I've just been kinda stuck in my house all the time listening to music, and being angry that everyone else seems to be out having fun, especially in the movies, which is actually not true. It is really difficult being a teenager, you're supposed to be so many things! Why can't I just be myself!
ReplyDeleteOhh, I looked on that link for the girls bedroom, and ohmygod! It is the most amazing room ever! I want mine to be like that!
Great post though, the pictures have great vibes, I'm sure outsider mag will be great with you working on it! xxx
